Outreach Committee

The outreach committee hosts and presents at events in order to promote STEM field education and awareness to K-12 children. This committee also works to organize community service activities. The outreach committee meets regularly to design and practice presentations, as well as to organize events.

This semester, the Outreach Committee will strive to increase diversity in STEM through events targeted at young girls and minorities.  We plan to have interactive activities ranging from elephant toothpaste to making slime.

Outreach works with many other clubs & organizations to help the community inspire the next wave of young scientists and engineers. Here we worked alongside another ISU club to host fun chemistry experiments for local 4th-6th grade girls. They learned about many chemical reactions including how catalysts work, the science behind non-polar/polar bonds, and how the structure of atoms works through hands-on activities.
